Week 5: How to sustain a community?

Illustration for Week 5

Sociocracy is coined by Gerard Endenburg, a Dutch entrepreneur who developed the concept in the 1970s as a way to create more inclusive and democratic organizations. The term 'sociocracy' is derived from the Latin words 'socius' (companion) and 'kratos' (power), reflecting the idea of shared power and collaboration within a group or organization. Sociocracy emphasizes consent-based decision-making, where decisions are made with the agreement of all members rather than through majority rule. It also promotes self-organization, transparency, and continuous improvement within organizations.
