This week, we’ll get introduced to the course and take a look at what we’ll be aiming to achieve.
This week, we’ll unlearn some of our assumptions about community and explore different models of collaboration.
This week, we’ll discuss what privilege and power have to do with being critical, and who can afford to be innocent and not engage in the urgent work of critical design and publishing.

This week we will go over the history of the Great Depression and the New Deal, and discuss how artists and creative workers can sustain themselves in a capitalist economy. We will also look at the role of art and design in social movements and how they can be used to create change.
This week we will discuss what it takes to create infrastructure to support a collective and sustain it over time. We will also look at the efforts of artists' labor movements and how they have fought for fair compensation and better working conditions.
In this week, we will be exploring the concept of mutual aid and trading resources as a form of collective action.
